Last night, after a delicious (first night of) Chanukah dinner prepared by my amazing Amethyst, we went to visit our dear friend Julie. She had just completed hand making a beautiful blanket for a local Marine who was very seriously wounded in Afghanistan and is recovering in Vancouver.

Julie volunteers at the Veterans' Hospital each week and brings good cheer, great snacks and her compassionate heart to many of these young people who are often far away from home and loved ones. She truly understands and lives the Spirit of Christmas and Chanukah.
